How To Activate Your Not For Resale (NFR) Subscription

What is an NFR Subscription?

A Not For Resale (NFR) Subscription is a special type of subscription provided to Keytos Partners that allows them to access Keytos solutions for free. These subscriptions are intended for testing, development, and demonstration purposes, and cannot be used for customer production environments or resold to customers. Any abuse of NFR subscriptions may result in termination of the partnership.

What Keytos Solutions are Included in NFR Subscriptions?

All Keytos solutions are included in NFR subscriptions, including EZCA, EZRADIUS, EZCMS, EZSSH, and EZMonitor. This allows partners to test and develop with the full range of Keytos products without incurring any costs.

How to Activate Your NFR Subscription

To activate your NFR subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure you have an active Keytos Partner account in the Partner Portal.
  2. Navigate to any Sign Up page for a Keytos solution (e.g. EZCA). Make sure to use the same email address associated with your Partner account.
  3. During the sign-up process, the billing section will be automatically removed, and you will not be prompted to enter any payment information. This indicates that your NFR subscription has been successfully activated.
  4. Once you complete the sign-up process, you will have an active NFR subscription for that Keytos solution, which you can use for testing and development purposes.

What Usage Limits Apply to NFR Subscriptions?

NFR subscriptions are completely free, without any usage limits or restrictions. However, they are intended for testing and development purposes only, and should not be used for customer production environments or resold to customers. Any abuse of NFR subscriptions may result in termination of the partnership.

Note that any technical constraints or limitations of the Keytos solutions themselves (e.g. maximum number of certificates issued by EZCA per second) still apply to NFR subscriptions, but there are no additional limits or restrictions specific to NFR subscriptions.

What If I Already Have a Paid Subscription?

If you already have a paid subscription for a Keytos solution, it will automatically be converted to an NFR subscription once you create your account in the Partner Portal. This means that you will no longer be charged for that subscription, and the billing section will be removed from your account. You can continue to use the Keytos solution with the same features and capabilities as before, but without any costs or billing associated with it.

This includes subscriptions created directly through a Keytos Sign Up page, as well as subscriptions created through Azure. Once you create your Partner account, any existing subscriptions will be converted to NFR subscriptions and you will not be charged for them going forward.

What If I Currently Have a Free Trial?

Free trial subscriptions do not currently convert automatically to NFR subscriptions when you create your Partner account. If you have an active free trial, please reach out to partner@keytos.io to have it converted to an NFR subscription. Once converted, you will have free access to the Keytos solution without any costs or billing associated with it.

Can I Create Multiple NFR Subscriptions for the Same Solution?

While it is possible to create multiple NFR subscriptions for the same Keytos solution, we recommend that you only create one NFR subscription per solution to avoid confusion and ensure proper management of your subscriptions.
